Who we are
Little Kids Names (the "Site", "we", "us") is operated by satya, trading as Little Kids Names. satya is the data controller for personal data processed through littlekidsnames.com. For any privacy question, contact support@littlekidsnames.com.
What data we collect
• Account data: email address and any profile details you provide (display name, avatar, preferred language, naming preferences).• Product data: favorites, comparison lists, voting lists, names you submit, and reports you file about submissions.• Subscription and usage data: plan status (Free or Premium), usage counters used to enforce free-tier limits (e.g. daily name-insight searches), and the subscription metadata Paddle returns to us (customer ID, subscription ID, plan, status, renewal date, environment).• Payment data (handled by Paddle): card details, billing address, tax/VAT identifiers, and transaction history are collected and processed by Paddle. We do not store your full card details on our servers.• Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and basic diagnostic logs.• Cookies and analytics: essential cookies for authentication and session preferences. If analytics are enabled we use privacy-friendly aggregate metrics only.• Support data: messages you send us via email or the contact page.
Why we collect it and legal basis
• Account login and syncing across devices — performance of a contract.• Saving favorites, comparison lists, and voting lists — performance of a contract.• Granting Premium access and enforcing free-plan limits — performance of a contract.• Selling, renewing, invoicing, and refunding Premium subscriptions, and complying with tax law — performance of a contract and legal obligation.• Reviewing community submissions and reports for safety, moderation, and religious/cultural respect — legitimate interests.• Customer support and responding to your requests — legitimate interests.• Security, abuse prevention, and fraud detection — legitimate interests.• Product improvement and aggregate analytics — legitimate interests.• Optional marketing emails (only if you opt in) — consent.We do not sell your personal data.
Paddle — payment processor and Merchant of Record
Payments and subscription billing for Little Kids Names Premium are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for our subscriptions and may process payment details, billing details, tax/VAT data, transaction history, and fraud-prevention data. Paddle may appear on your bank or card statement.We do not store your full card details on our servers. We receive from Paddle only the subscription metadata needed to grant and manage access (customer ID, subscription ID, plan, status, renewal date, environment). Who we share data with
• Paddle — payment processing, subscription billing, tax/VAT, refunds, invoicing, and fraud prevention.• Hosting, database, authentication, and email service providers acting as processors on our behalf.• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.• Authorities where required by law.
Security measures
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage at rest, role-based admin access (only authorised admins can review submissions or subscription records), row-level security policies on our database so users can only read their own private data, restricted service credentials, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
• Account and profile data — retained while your account is active. Deleted or anonymised within 90 days of a verified deletion request or account closure.• Favorites, voting lists, and submitted names — retained with your account. Approved community submissions may remain visible after account deletion in anonymised form.• Billing and transaction records — retained by Paddle and by us for the period required by tax, accounting, and legal obligations (typically 7–10 years).• Diagnostic logs — up to 90 days.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and withdraw consent at any time. UK/EEA users have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email support@littlekidsnames.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
International transfers
Personal data may be processed outside your country of residence, including by Paddle and our hosting providers. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Cookies
We use a small set of essential cookies and local storage for authentication and to remember in-session preferences (like favorites for signed-out visitors). Paddle may set cookies as part of the checkout flow.
Community submissions
Names you submit are reviewed by our moderators. Once approved they are publicly visible along with the meaning, origin, and any submitter name you chose to share. Your email is never shown publicly.
